Very few games help kids develop deductive reasoning as effectively as Brain Freeze does. Children display such obvious pleasure during game play that it comes as no surprise when they insist on rematch after rematch. The object is to be the first player (or team) to correctly guess which of the 100 squares on the board their opponent selected as his Sweet Treat Secret Square. This is done through a process of elimination during which players engage in quick back and forths, repeatedly venturing guesses that include the 4 characteristics that uniquely identify each square/treat on the board - row, column, flavor, and type of treat. Players record information they glean by circling or crossing off items on their board, the culmination of which eventually allows one player or team to identify the other's secret square. Brain Freeze is an exceedingly well thought-out game, a rollicking good time whose fun feel and ease of play belie the depth of logic and thinking kids employ each and every time they play.
