Sharing and cooperation are key elements of play in this charming and delightful game. The game components alone are so well-made and imaginatively illustrated that they exert a magnet-like pull on youngsters. The game's goal is for each and every player to fill his or her Rainbow Fish Board with colored fish scales before the Wave Marker reaches the end of the Sea Board. When this is achieved, everyone wins. If, however, the wave reaches the shore before everyone's fish boards are filled, nobody wins (though quite a good time is still had by all). Accomplishing the goal requires not only cooperative action, but also communication and a certain amount of simple strategic thinking. It's a wonderful concept, beautifully executed and made all the more enjoyable by players' immersion into the enchanting underwater world of Marcus Pfister's classic, 'The Rainbow Fish.'
