This excellent story of a young dinosaur learning to curb his biting impulses is told through simple, effective text and highly amusing illustrations. Chief among these are images of Little Dino, a toothy, glasses-wearing sauropod with a serious overbite. Little Dino hasn't quite learned what constitutes an acceptable use of jaw-power, and the expressions on his face as he alternately chomps, contemplates chomping, and surveys the after-effects of his chomping, while mom guides and gently chides him, are absolutely priceless and hilarious. Using humor and playfulness is, of course, a great way to impress this message on your own youngster's mind, and the author's idea of centering the story around a cute creature with profoundly large and potentially destructive teeth makes the point quite effectively. The final illustration, of Little Dino contentedly nuzzling mom as she hugs him, makes another point - we'll get through this together, with love and patience.
