This outstanding activity tracker for kids is both a fitness monitor and a game, a combination that proves to be a powerful motivator when it comes to keeping children active and fit. The wireless device ($34.99) is worn on the child's hip or shoe and syncs to a free app in which kids see their onscreen character blast off on a space adventure. Those galactic destinations map to real-life activity goals set by parents and monitored via the device. Parents log in to set goals and create rewards the child will earn by achieving them. The rewards can be whatever the parent chooses to enter - one-on-one time with Dad, a trip to Kiddie-land, a sleepover, a desired toy. Kids can also earn coins and exclusive content through Disney's Club Penguin. A parent can assign multiple goals at one time. When the child logs into the app, each goal appears as a planet on the galactic path. By tapping the screen, the child can view each planet and the goal (number of steps) associated with reaching the planet. Tap again and the reward to be earned upon completion of the goal is shown as well as the current progress made towards achieving that goal.
