Little Champion Reader is a comprehensive reading program that combines three proven reading approaches - Phonics, Sight Word Memorization, and Whole Language, into a single system. The system is broken into three levels within which your child moves from reading words, to phrases, and then to complete sentences. While progressing through the levels, your child uses all 3 reading techniques simultaneously, so that he or she can reap the unique benefits of each approach along the way. The system includes 9 DVDs (3 at each level) that form the core of the learning system and present lessons and stories that are visually engaging, entertaining, and contain a wealth of key words and phrases. The set also includes 15 sliding flashcards, 15 phonics books, and a CD with 150 printable worksheets. These components are labeled as to level and lesson order, making them easy to coordinate into lessons rich in content and variety. Suggested lesson plans are clearly laid out in the instruction manual and require only 20 minutes of active learning daily. The program can be completed in 15 weeks, but is designed to be flexible so that parents can customize according to their child's needs.
