This program for improving your child's focus and attention contains an abundance of outstanding materials, but it is the Jungle Rangers Game and the careful science behind it that is the program's core tool. To the uninitiated parent, Jungle Rangers may appear at first glance to be just a video game. But listen to the interviews with Jason Leon (the game's producer), and Kimberly Kerns, Ph.D, an expert in developmental neuropsychology, and you'll learn just how much thought was but into each element of the game's structure and interface. Each task was designed to improve specific elements of your child's focus and attention - working memory capacity, sustained attention, and the ability to keep in mind a sequence of events and make decisions based on things that happened earlier in the sequence, among others. Jungle Rangers automatically adjusts the level of its tasks, becoming easier or more difficult based on your child's rate of success. This invisible feature ensures that your child remains appropriately challenged while avoiding the discouragement he or she might feel if the failure rate were to get too high.
