Like the 'Build Your Own' Tutor Blocks set (see separate review, under 'B'), Happy Family includes a variety of colorful magnetic blocks that make stacking easy and fun for kids as young as 6 months old. Happy Family differs in that it includes a number of mini-figure blocks - family members Mom, Dad, kids Timmy and Tina, and a dog named Posh. These, too, each have a block-like base that magnetically clicks into place when stacked with other Tutor Blocks. The rest of the set consists of regular Tutor Block shapes that have playful images printed on one side (a smiling sun, teapot, a Teddy Bear, . . .), while the two largest blocks proudly display the words 'Happy' and 'Family.' These 16 pieces make for a smorgasbord of creative building and role play opportunities. Combining the 'Build Your Own' and 'Happy Family' sets enhances the fun and learning and significantly expands the building and play opportunities.
