This highly entertaining game brings out players' social sides, big time, generating lots of hilarity and lighthearted interaction amidst the competitive fun! Each round starts by reading aloud a Word Cue card, after which all players jot down a word they think best completes the phrase while bearing in mind the scoring structure: if no other player has the same answer as you, you earn 0 points. If more than two players have matched your answer, you and they earn 1 point each. If exactly one other player has your answer, you both earn 3 points! Some players consistently aimed for this 3-point sweet spot, choosing answers that were somewhat (but not too) outside the box. Others invariably went for the obvious answer in the belief that it would net them an easy point. Both approaches carry risk, and it can be quite advantageous to know or be able to read your opponents sufficiently to intuit their answers in advance. And while luck, strategy, language skills, people skills and risk-reward tolerance all factored into how players fared, Blank Slate's through-the-roof fun factor kept everyone thoroughly engaged and amused, win or lose, game after game!
