This beautifully-crafted board game and accompanying guide book do a remarkable job of helping children develop empathy and emotional intelligence. Amid the fun and exciting game play, youngsters become superheroes whose goal is to thwart the villain Goobi's efforts to sow emotional chaos in the fictional city of Empathropolis. Players travel the board on rolls of the dice, with heroes collaboratively acting to overturn Goobi's havoc by resolving common, emotionally-charged scenarios outlined on cards drawn from a deck. Questions printed inside the box lid aid kids greatly in assessing each scenario's emotional dynamics, while illustrated Emotion Cards help players become expert at identifying feelings. There are lots of other fine twists and turns, including Power Up cards, face-off rounds and more.
