Mythology meets reality in this sprawling 1,000-piece puzzle! The imagination-stirring illustration on the finished puzzle depicts a bustling scene populated with characters culled from traditional Chinese festivals (Dragon King, Red Boy, Zhong Kui and others) interspersed with humans sharing food and lively conversation. Adding to the festive atmosphere are a number of other culturally relevant items beautifully integrated into the scene, including auspicious clouds and an abundance of lanterns. It is rare to see artwork this fine displayed on a jigsaw puzzle, and the full-color poster that accompanies it is handsome enough to warrant framing. Perhaps that is why the manufacturer smartly thought to include with the set a miniature wooden frame containing an especially vibrant excerpt from the puzzle that makes for an attractive addition to any desk or shelf.
