The Crayola Light-Up Activity Board places a host of highly engaging activities at kids' fingertips, hands-on explorations through which children as young as age 3 can develop a number of important skills. With each press of a prominently-displayed button, the activity board's light-up surface changes colors (12 in all), a vibrant effect made all the more stimulating by the ways in which the set's geometric shapes and colorable transparency sheets can be layered and overlapped. Not only do the soft, clingy plastic pieces promote counting, sorting and shape recognition, they are also colored and transparent, characteristics that foster color mixing, matching, and the building of scenes from simple shapes. The transparencies are precut to fit the activity board's surface and contain line art to be colored in using the set's 3 washable markers, sections of which function as tangram-like puzzles kids solve by correctly matching shapes to the patterns.
