Set Morphy out at any family-friendly gathering and, within minutes, every child and adult in the room will have gravitated to it, eager to play. This unusually appealing game consists of 16 quirkily colorful, patterned discs resting on pegs in a grid, a white ball atop one of them. The goal is to collect as many discs as possible by repeatedly moving the white ball to a disc that shares exactly two out of three characteristics - color, pattern, and center disc size - with the disc from which it is departing. A given player can continue making moves and collecting discs for as long as they are able to keep finding such matches. Players quickly become adept at thinking ahead, examining outcomes so as to choose moves that will net them the greatest number of consecutive discs. At the end of each player's turn, spaces left by removed discs are repopulated with new ones. When no more unused discs remain, the player with the most discs wins!
