OgoSport is a maker of great outdoor play products that just seem to keep getting better with time. Aero Zipp is a prime example, a hand-held ball launcher that propels specially designed balls great distances at often dazzling speeds. The launcher is a lightweight hinged instrument with a comfortable handle at one end, a claw that holds the ball at the other, and a hinge in the middle. That hinge is key, because the launcher starts out folded back, ball in place, then swings open in a fluid motion as you swing your arm forward. The launcher hits full extension somewhere mid-swing, at which point the Zipp Ball exits the launcher with a velocity sometimes faster than the eye can track. The backspin of the the Zipp Ball causes air above it to move faster, resulting in something called the Magnus effect (creating lift), while dimples in the ball reduce drag. The net effect is a ball that covers great distances. Play Zipp Catch, Aero Golf, Throw the Distance, or make up your own games.
