Orbital Velocity is a fabulously fun, strategically-diverse board game in which players take on the roles of rocket scientists deploying satellites into several different orbits over the course of each game. Each orbit is accomplished by being the first player or team to land a rocket playing piece on a designated square on the board, different in each of the five rounds. Throughout, players perform quick mental calculations and probabilistic risk/reward assessments as they contemplate moves and their potential consequences. With each round, the number of rockets on the board increases, dynamically expanding the strategic options. Kids find the space theme to be imagination-stirring and enticing, factors that put them in an enjoyable math and science mindset while they accelerate and decelerate rockets by playing numeric cards from their hand onto the board.
