This is a fine creative and educational kit, both in terms of what children can do and learn with it and its presentation. Its components are at such a high level of quality and arrive so lovingly arranged in their box that the kit seems like one-of-a-kind. Its goal, to introduce ancient oriental/Chinese history to children all over the world, is achieved through a series of remarkable creative activities, the results of which are highly gratifying and long-lasting. Using pre-cut wooden pieces and acrylic paints, kids make beautiful Chest Plate Ornaments that emulate Western Zhou Dynasty Armor. These are affixed to an over-the-shoulders garment (included) that can be worn to proudly display them. Next, kids make their own West Wall Rubbing Art. Using a wooden stamp, one side of which is magnetized, kids arrange magnetic cutouts representing mythical Chinese characters. They then apply ink and stamp those images on reel paper. Once fully decorated, the top and bottom of the paper is attached to wooden reels and becomes a beautiful hanging scroll. The handbook displays step-by-step instructions on each of the above activities and more.
