Selma's Dolls is a collection of uncommonly beautiful ragdolls that celebrate our differences (cultures, religions, developmental disabilities) and similarities as human beings and help sow acceptance and inclusion as a way of thinking and being. The three dolls currently available are Annie, a doll with Down syndrome, a Muslim doll named Ameena, and Lola, a Mexican-American doll. Each of the three comes with a hardcover book whose story fleshes out the dolls' characters and tells of the special bond that develops between them on the first day of school. The book includes conversation starters that help parents and children explore what it means to be different from others. Each doll is 12.8 inches tall and made with a variety of kid-friendly (soft and snuggly) and parent-friendly (easy to spot clean) materials. The dolls' construction and design is such that they are easy for young ones to hold and will remain sitting upright on their own, features that inspire an abundance of pretend play!
