Players divide into pirates and cops represented by spaceships on the board. If a pirate spaceship reaches the escape portal without first getting in 2 collisions, pirates win. Otherwise, cops emerge victorious. Increasing or decreasing speed (a frequent and necessary occurrence) requires the expenditure of fuel. Since running out of fuel is a sure way to lose, players must remain aware of fuel levels at all times, not to mention their ship's speed, direction, and potential obstacles. Adding to the excitement is players' ability to purchase a number of edge-giving powers to help nudge them towards a win, though logic, reasoning, planning and problem-solving remain key determinants in who comes out on top.
