This solo-play Sudoku game uses visual clues to help youngsters solve a total of 90 thoroughly enjoyable and progressively more challenging puzzles. Each of the puzzle cards is numbered as to its relative place in the progression. The simplest consist of 2 x 2 grids with few choices to be made and gradually build to 3 X 3 grids in which clever clues guide kids through numerous logic-based decisions. Playing tokens distinguished by cute animal illustrations (kitty, bunny, panda, etc.) contribute to Sudoku Forest's strong appeal, as does the forest-themed board in which each card is slotted during play. The clues, which indicate either that certain animals belong or don't belong in a specific row and/or column, are strictly visual, so there is no need to be able to read. And even when dealing with 3 x 3 grids in which there are as many as 7 blank squares to be filled, the clues intersect in such a way as to guide the attentive child to the correct and satisfying conclusion. Drawn in by the sheer fun of the play, kids develop a host of logic-based thinking skills every step of the way.
