Syllables Factory is a delightfully entertaining and engaging way for children to develop essential skills such as language and vocabulary, creativity, visual discrimination and fine motor skills. The set includes 63 gloriously illustrated animal tiles, each displaying one portion of a given animal's body along with a single syllable of that animal's name - a total of 23 distinct word-and-image mini puzzles. But lo and behold, there is even more fun afoot! The tiles have been ingeniously designed so as to allow all the different animals to be mixed and matched, a feature that inspires the spontaneous creation of utterly fantastic, often hilarious, new words and critters. One youngster instantly produced the rhinoctopus (the head and forequarters of a rhino with the tentacles of an octopus), a feat that spurred an immense amount of word and image play as kids excitedly sought to outdo one another. Just as often, though, the most creative and amusing inventions were arrived at collaboratively, the result of kids chiming in, riffing on one another's ideas and having a grand time every step of the way!
