Tell Tale Fairy Tales is a surefire way to get friends and family members engaged in playful interaction, with their imaginations going full-tilt. The deck of 60 cards contains 120 illustrations (one on each side), the sort of imagery found in classic fairy tales. Players use the cards to inspire their own made-up stories, unspooled one image at a time. For example, a hand of 4 cards might consist of a sleeping dragon, an idyllic forest scene, a cave entrance, and a pirate with a parrot. This first player might lay down the dragon card and say, 'Once upon a time, there was a sleeping dragon, dreaming of a time when she was young, before she'd learned to fly . . .' The next player would then turn up a card chosen freely from his own hand and build on the first player's story, followed by the next player, and so on. This communal approach is called Round 'N Round, one of four distinct play options offered in the instructions. Each of the four play options is unique and delightful in its own way, but the central premise - using the cards to inspire stories - remains the same. This non-competitive game is a wonderful way to build language skills, foster creativity, and most of all, to connect kids and adults of all ages through imaginative, highly entertaining play.
