The Moodies offers an ingeniously effective approach to helping little ones identify and understand their own and others' emotions. Each of the ultra-huggable Moodies is a cuddly, comforting animal companion AND an illustrated storybook, the combination of which epitomizes a specific strong emotion of the sort kids wrestle with on any given day. Each animal's facial expression conveys a singular emotion, while the character's name and emotional backstory are fleshed out in a storybook accessed by lifting the beautifully-illustrated cloth flap on the toy's flipside. The child bonds with, and relates to, the Moodies character and its emotional state, a process that facilitates development of self-awareness, empathy for others, and a host of positive behavioral shifts. Having one or more of the Moodies on hand (we recommend collecting them all) helps children naturally develop the interpersonal tools necessary to healthily navigate the emotionally fraught social situations they will encounter on a daily basis at home and in school!
