Three Sticks is a thinking game extraordinaire, one in which players use creativity and ingenuity to outwit their opponents. The goal is to earn points by completing geometric shapes using sticks currently in your possession. Those sticks come in 3 different lengths, and the point value of a shape is determined by both the size and type of shape created. Because players can place only 2 sticks per turn, the ability to complete a shape requires making use of sticks already on the board. The very best players develop a knack for planning ahead, setting up future moves in which they can create high value shapes while taking care not to position opponents to swoop in and score. The sticks players have at their disposal on any given turn are determined by randomly selected cards, adding luck and uncertainty to a highly skill-based game. Further enhancing the fun are power cards that can boost a player's capabilities or hinder an opponent's.
