We dare anyone to not enjoy the heck out of Penguin Panic, a game that gets players laughing right from the get-go. Players take turns removing plastic ice blocks from the midst of a pile stacked on a tray in the penguin's arms. The goal is to do so without causing the pile to fall, but there's a big twist that makes the game extra-unpredictable and giddily fun. After removing a block and stacking it on top of the pile, a player must press a button that causes the penguin to shiver and shake, sometimes for longer than others. As soon as the shaking begins, the ice blocks begin to move and slide, making the tower ever more precarious. If the blocks fall, that player is out. The penguin adds to the fun by regularly making hilarious, somewhat anxious sounds, as if he, too, dreads the possibility of a fall. Sometimes the shaking, slipping and sliding helps the next player, as when a block slides well out from the middle of the pile and hangs there, as if to say, 'take me.' But mostly it gets players on the edge of their seats, everyone but the player who's just moved hoping for a mishap. For 2 - 4 players.
