The clever design of these numeric bricks provides a fantastic way for kids to learn about numbers while having fun. The bricks have physical and tactile properties that intuitively convey characteristics of the decimal number system and are conducive to a variety of games and exercises. Kids easily learn counting, relationships, basic math, and all around numeracy skills. There are 4 sets of 9 bricks apiece included, each sized and color-coded by place value (ones, tens, hundreds, thousands). Each brick has a row of counting knobs along the top. When any two same-sized bricks are superimposed on top of one another or placed back to back, the counting knobs communicate important information. Things like which number is larger or smaller, the numeric difference between them, whether they add up to ten, or how much less their sum is than ten, can be determined at a glance. Stacking the bricks smaller on top of larger creates a picture-perfect visual as to each digit's place value within the number.
